We invite you to join us on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, for Moose Hide Campaign Walk Day in Burlington, a day in advance of the May 14 national day of ceremony to take a stand against gender-based and domestic violence.
Born from a hunting trip along the "Highway of Tears" in British Columbia, this movement encourages Indigenous and non-Indigenous men and boys to lead the way in ending violence against women and children. Today, it is a call to action for all Canadians to foster a culture of respect and safety.
How you can participate:
Wear the Pin: Pick up Moose hide pin to wear as a symbol of your commitment to honour, respect, and protect the women and children in your life.
Join the Fast: Participate in a sunrise-to-sunset fast to deepen your intention and show solidarity with survivors.
Take the Pledge: Stand with us in with community for a moment of reflection.
Together, we can spark the conversations necessary to create a safer community for everyone.
You are welcome and encouraged to invite your family members, friends, neighbors, and community members to join us.
Event Details:
We will gather at the Rotary Pond (near Spencers resteraunt), loop the lakeshore trail once, and then head toward the rotary pond starting point to conclude with closing remarks.
