Burlington’s journey to become a municipality started on Sept. 9, 1873 when the villages of Wellington Square and Port Nelson merged to become the Village of Burlington.
That’s why we’re inviting you to attend a small celebration this Saturday (Sept. 9) from 10-11 a.m. at Burlington City Hall.
Join us for flag-raisings, a special proclamation to be read by, and a few special additions for the day. There will also be an opportunity to see the recent renovations to the first floor at Burlington City Hall.
Free Drop-In Skate and Swims will also be held Saturday afternoon in celebration of Burlington’s 150+ anniversary. Please visit for more information: https://www.burlington.ca/Modules/News/en/FestivalsEvents Register at www.burlington.ca/dropinandplay. Reserving your spot ahead is recommended. Walk-ins will be admitted if there is still space available.
